My Queensland Adventure

I am back from a FANTASTIC three days in Sunny Queensland. I had a great time with all my friends & family up there :) I spent the first night at Tashabeans, we felt it was a good idea to wash her dog at midnight. luckily she is a staffy and was a 2 min job. the next morning we were up dawns crack to goto the markets, however i cannot complaine because i was going so that i could see my gorgeous Neice Sarah goto her swimming lessons. It was great to see her swimming, she really enjoyed it and it was fun to watch. I was amazed at what she could do. I was then taken back to Wendy & Jims to get ready for Nic's surprise BBQ. Typical Nic has to botch things up and come to wendys early, thinking she was there to babysit Sarah. so I was zoomed into a bedroom and kept hidden until Tasha arrived. hidden away chatting on a laptop as if i were in sydney, then telling Nic id be "brb" and appearing in Wendys computer room. a startled look, pause and an OH SHIT later and Nic was thrilled, very surprised! We had a fantastic time at the BBQ and it was great to catch up with everyone. That night TashaBean, Wendy and I went Bowling, had a great time, got my arse kicked three times but had a ball so it didnt matter.

The next day I went to a dog show with beanie where I met Dak Daks breeder and some of Tashas other staffy friends. we had a great morning. I was then picked up and taken to Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens where Wendy performed with her concert band, it was great, I spent most of my time being taken on a tour of the grounds by Sarah. we then went to the lookout to see the oh so tiny city of brisbane, the view was great. that night Wendy and I left Jim with Sarah and went with Tash to Scrapbook at Nicole's (Sams mum) place...yes thats right, REAL MEN can scrapbook LOL! We watched the P!nk Concert on DVD, made pizza and scrapbooked to the wee hours, I made a page for Sarahs scrapbook so she can look back on it when shes older...even if she wont remeber it actually happening. hehe.

My last day saw us travelling into Brisbane to check out the massive book fair and go suit shopping for Jim, we met up with his brother and future sister inlaw. Sarah didnt think much of the shopping experience, she cried everytime we went into the suit shop, so wendy and I took her for a walk to MYER (my store) where she decided to fall asleep in my arms as you can see by the photo below :)

the three days flew by and before long I was back at the airport saying goodbye, trying not to make a large emotional scene, which kinda worked hahahaha.

I want to thank all my friends who made this happen and spent time with me on my holiday, I had a fantastic time and enjoyed every minute of it. A very special thankyou to Wendy, Jim, Tasha and Bill for their hospitality in letting me stay at their places & Nic for having me over with the girls. Without all their efforts, hopsiutality and organisational skills this weekend wouldnt have happened or been as wonderful as it was. I am a very lucky guy to have so many wonderful people in my life!

For more photos from my trip click here thanks to wendy for putting them on the web!

Meeting David Walliams

I know this is somewhat in the past however I needed something good to start my blog with, so why not use my 'When I met David Walliams' Story.

on Sunday the 25th of February 2007, I went to Woolongong with Karen, Phil, Richie & Laura to see Little Britain Live, for the second time. I spent the car trip and many days before excited, yet wondering if it was a bit over the top going twice, especially as it wasn't a cheap experience. We arrived early and needed something to do, My thoughts were, when in Woolongong you go to the beach, so we did. After a while of running around, writing in the sand & trying to splash everyone we noticed a man walking down to the beach in a dressing gown, at first thinking it was weird and then deciding it must be the done thing in the gong we went on our business killing time. As the no longer robed man entered the water Laura asked me if it was David Walliams of Little Britain (as i was closest to him, yet not really paying attention). After a while of thinking and watching this man swimming the length of the very cold beach we decided it had to be, hes a very good swimmer and has swum the English channel amongst other things, so why not Woolongong beach? We conveniently found a place to sit between the water and his belongings (hmm can anyone say stalker?) and waited for him to swim back. As he did and got closer to us, security made its way down the beach, we had to stay back whilst he put on his robe then he came to talk to us, signed our tickets and had his photo taken with us. Hes a really nice guy and the show was just as great second time around, Defiantly worth the wonga to see it a second time!
